TYPE OF EQUIPMENT USED:

Samples, Tests and Analysis are carried out with the latest state of the art Electrical Test Equipment and Software.The TEN test and measurement instruments that are used are as follows:

Enermax & Elster: Energy Billing Electrical Meter (Recorder)
AR5: Power Quality Analyzer capable of 256 samples per cycle.
CM4000T: Power Quality and Disturbance Recorder which also records Transients and is capable of 1000 samples per cycle. At present EVT is one of two companies in SA that has this type of test instrument.
Fluke 434: This is the latest Power Quality Analyzer. It is capable of measuring 3ph Volts, Neutral and Earth Volts and also has four Current inputs. The instrument can also measure Unbalance, Crest factor, Flicker, Transients and all Harmonic Parameters. At present there are only two of these instruments in South Africa.
Fluke Ti20 Thermal Imager: Fluke Ti20 to carry out Thermal surveys (Infrared) to find electrical / mechanical faults.
PCA 2: On-load Protection Condition Analyzer. The unit tests the Relay, Breaker and Battery simultaneously. It injects the precise current into the Relay independently of the actual load current.
Circuit Breaker Speed Tester: This unit is used to check the opening speed of Main Contacts of Breakers and to tests the Contact Resistance of the Main Contacts.
Primary / Secondary Injection Set: Capable of Injecting up to 2500Amps.
SKM Electrical Engineering Software: Modeling System Studies i.e. Harmonic, Motor Starting, Protection Grading and Load Studies.
Pressure Tester VLF Type: This unit is used to Pressure Test Cables and Electrical Equipment
